Delivery

Our Delivery Charges in Mainland UK (Excluding Northern Ireland &) including VAT are as follows:

Please note that if there is no-one available to sign for your delivery and you requested to have it left in your back garden, on the door mat or in an outbuilding etc., this is done at your own risk. Our carrier will post a card through your door to inform you that it has been left in the specified place. Essex Industrial Supplies Ltd do not accept responsibility for loss or theft of items left in an unsecure place at your request.

In most cases, for purposes of security, we will only deliver your order to the address of the card holder. If you wish to have your order sent  to another address, you must contact us to arrange an alternative solution. Please note: Our reason for this condition is purely to protect both yourself and Essex Industrial Supplies Ltd against the increasing problem of credit card fraud.

 If for any reason, it is not possible to deliver your order within the allotted time period or an ordered item is out of stock, we will notify you by phone or e-mail before depatching any goods. If you wish to save yourself the cost of any carriage on your order, you may wish to collect goods yourself. We will then deal directly with your order and contact you when your items arrive. Should you have any queries regarding the status of your order please telephone or e-mail and we will be able to advise you.

Returns & Refunds

Items Not Required
We aim to provide you with as much information as we can about each product so that you can make an informed purchase decision. However, to give you additional confidence, we will allow you to return any item if it is not what you require within 7 working days of receipt as long as it has not been used and it is returned in its original undamaged packaging. If you do this you will have to pay the cost of returning the goods to us. We reserve the right to charge a re-stocking fee of up to but not greater than 15% of the purchase price. 

All you need to do is to contact us on 01708 398010 or e-mail us at sales@essexindustrialsupplies.co.uk quoting the order number of the order to be returned/cancelled. You should then return the item(s) to us by the agreed method. Unfortunately we cannot accept proof of posting as confirmation of delivery.

Upon receipt of the item(s) we will refund the price, less any handling charge of the item(s) subject to them being unused and in their original condition and packaging.

Faulty, Incorrectly Supplied and Damaged Items

If an item has been incorrectly supplied, received damaged or is faulty then you should notify us within 10 days of the receipt of the goods following the Returns Procedures detailed above. Should we, upon receipt of the said items, be satisfied as to the alleged defects we will either replace the goods or arrange a refund of the full value of the goods and any carriage costs incurred.

We take great care to insure that any personal detail you send us remains totally confidential. All credit card information is encrypted when it is transferred over the Internet using SSL Encryption. We respect the need to protect your privacy. In order to process your order and to provide you with details of that order at a later stage we do need to collect and retain a certain amount of personal data. We will not share your details with any third party for use as marketing. We will only share detail with parties carrying out work on our behalf to complete your order. We have a strict internal procedure dealing with any complaints. We will endeavour to resolve the complaint within four working days and your complaint will be treated fairly, confidentially and with respect. All prices quoted are inclusive of Vat unless stated otherwise. To the best of our knowledge all prices are correct at the time of issue. We cannot be held liable for any inaccuracies found on this website and we reserve the right to change prices without prior notification in line with manufactures price increases.

Please note that prices shown on our website may differ from those in our stores or other publications. Website prices will be available upon request for customers who have registered with us on-line. If you wish to purchase a specific product in-store, please contact us to verify stock availability.

Guarantees

Essex Industrial Supplies Ltd take great care to ensure that all the products featured on this website are of a high quality.

As part of our commitment to quality we provide a minimum 1 year guarantee on all Hand Tool products on this website provided that they have been used, at all times, in the correct manner. However in most cases, due to the exceptional quality of the products, the manufacturers guarantee will exceed this on their products.

As far as Power Tools are concerned we follow the manufacturers policy, details of which will be included with the product. Certain other brands may have an extended manufacturers warranty available, requiring on-line registration. Full details can be obtained by selecting the link attached to the product.

If a product is faulty and under guarantee the cost of returning the product is at the customers expense & you should follow the procedures detailed below.

WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment.  The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

·         Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

·         Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled.  Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.  

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

Essex Industrial Supplies Ltd are obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.

For example, if a customer bought a new MAKITA 9554NB ANGLE GRINDER from us we would accept their old ELECTRIC ANGLE GRINDER and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item. The cost of returning this item will be down to the customer!

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled
